Luckily, there’s lots to pump you up and into shape for fall. Just take it from the pros at at Chicago’s ballet barre/yoga/orthopedic exercise obsession: The Daily Method.

The team behind the Windy City’s most enviable cores gave us a sneak peek of the upcoming season’s most exciting workout trends. Consider yourself warned about the possibility of breaking a sweat from pure excitement.

What’s the most prevalent attitude towards fitness for fall ’13?
At The Dailey Method our attitude is ‘Strong is the New Skinny.’ While its important to maintain a healthy body weight that’s right for you, eating healthy foods that are fuel for your body and mind and never depriving yourself is what’s really important. Which workouts are super-hot this season?
Our Mixed TDM class incorporated with Dailey Interval or Dailey Cycle provides the perfect balance of lengthening and strengthening along with an intense cardio burn. We have clients that switch off every other day between our Mixed class and Interval. However, we also have clients that stick with our Mixed class and Dailey+, getting an intense heart rate lift from our more traditional barre workout. And just last week we introduced Dailey Cycle, which made its national debut at The Dailey Method Northbrook. The new workout begins with 15 minutes of barre work, followed by 30 minutes on the bike. The workout concludes with 15 minutes of stretching.

Sounds, dare we say, fun?! So what are the fitness-wear must-haves for fall?
This fall, we’re still seeing a lot of the bright ‘pop’ colors that were highlighted this summer. Our activewear brands including Lululemon and Splits59 are showing their traditional sexy style elements in colors including atomic green, fire orange and ultra violet purple.

Additionally, we have lifestyle pieces from these lines that are meant to take you from your workout to the grocery store just by throwing on a unique pullover on top of your yoga pants! Velvet, Michael Stars and Yosi Samra shoes are staple brands we’ve always carried and this fall we’re seeing a lot in the way of leather trims and fun prints in rich colors. These are great options for our clients looking for a quick fashion fix while on their way in or out from a workout!
