GIFTBAR HOW-TO: PACKING FOR A BEACH VACATION

August has officially begun, and summer is officially winding down… We know—how did it go by so damn quickly?!

Since autumn is right around the corner, you’re probably spending this month squeezing in as much vaca time as possible. Cue the bikini wearing and cocktail sipping.

That’s why we’re dedicating this first week of August to showing you how to spend your fashion gift cards on the outfit essentials you’ll need for packing your bags for any type of last-minute summer trip. Today, it’s beach vaca time, featuring Instagram finds from one of our favorite Houston local boutiques, Brooke Feather.

1. Sightseeing

Even if you think you’re going to spend your entire vaca sipping on Mai Tais and getting your tan on, the adventure bug is sure to bite you in the sandy bum. Whether it’s exploring the waterfalls in Hawaii or traipsing around the markets in St. Tropez, you’ll need to pack a cute, comfortable, and casual outfit for a day of walking.

2. Beach Day

When packing for a beach vacation, if you forget to pack a few outfits for the days spent exclusively at the beach, something seriously must have gone wrong. We suggest loading up on the bikinis, and simply adding a breezy sarong and a few tanks to the mix so you can travel stylishly from the room, to the pool, to the beach, to the bar. Repeat.

3. Night Out

Beach vacas are all about keeping it casual and super easy. So if you and your guy are planning a date night at a beach-front restaurant followed by a couple of drinks, use your gift cards to purchase a flowy top (more room for dessert), sophisticated—yet edgy—denim, and a Clare Vivier clutch, of course. Then don’t forget to pack them.
